Captain

Mark Fallaparte

Gather around ye scurvy dogs and listen to the tale of Mark Fallaparté… Once a widely feared mercenary who sailed the 7 seas, Fallaparté terrorized the Caribbean for many, many years. He was hired by captains, treasure hunters and royal officials alike until his greed and love of gold slowly consumed him. His reign of terror was met with a swift end when several captains devised a plot to ambush and maroon him on a small island somewhere off the coast of Tortuga.

No one knows quite how long Fallaparté dwelled on this island, but one thing was for sure, the longer he stayed the deeper he slipped into madness. He completely lost touch with the reality of his former life, and eventually could not remember who he was, thus giving birth to two new personalities. Fallaparté became his dominant personality. He somehow developed a french accent despite never having been to France, and he became convinced that he once was a french winemaker working for the king of France. Fallaparté spends most of his time drinking wine and reminiscing about his days wandering about the vineyards of the Château de Goulaine, a vineyard he has never been too. His counterpart, Mingulay is a completely insane ruthless pirate obsessed with chaos and gold. Typically Mingulay only bursts out in spouts of rage when he wants to object with Fallaparté’s kindhearted nature, but once in awhile he completely takes the reigns and there is no telling what will happen next.

Fallaparté and Mingulay had grown accustomed to their island home, surviving on coconut water, bananas and fish. They even made up a full crew of inanimate objects, which Mingulay deemed himself the captain of. They believed they would spend eternity there until one fateful day when a navigational error due to inclement weather caused the Council of Rouges crew to crash smack into Fallaparté’s island. The crew unboarded the ship to see where they had unintentionally landed, when in the distance they noticed a small man pacing back and forth. They knew this island was supposed to be uninhabited, so with curiosity getting the better of them they decided to approach the suspicious character. Once they made their way over, they could not believe their eyes. They had stumbled upon Fallaparté in a full argument with Mingulay surrounded by washed up rum barrels, coconut husks, banana peels and empty bottes all with drawn on faces. The crew sat and watched the madman howl at his “crew” for a few moments until Dumas finally interjected. Mingulay, believing they were a mere hallucination of his own mind just began addressing them as other members of his motley crew not being able to tell the difference between humans and coconuts. Gremmy the Grim, grabbed Mingulay and slapped him so hard that it brought Fallaparté back out. Fallaparté failing to understand the reality of his situation just assumed that they were on the island the entire time he was there and they were his long lost crew. Once he set eyes on the crews ship, The Rogue Wave, he exploded in sheer happiness finally realizing he had a way to escape the imprisonment of his fated island. Once on board he assumed the position of Capítan, believing he was returning to his long awaited post, and the crew not having the heart to tell him he was completely insane just kind of went with it. Now the two can be found arguing their way throughout the adventures of the Council of Rogues Crew or wandering from tavern to tavern with they’re faithful crew mates. No matter where they wander, one thing is for certain; Chaos and mischief will surely follow

Mermaid

Mermaid Diamond Sparkles

Mermaid Diamond Sparkles/Ms. Diamond State Mermaid loves shiny and sparkly treasures. Her love of shiny, sparkly things is what led her to the ship of the Council of Rogues, where she noticed heaps and piles of sparkly, shiny treasure. She made her way to the ship where she was then captured by the pirates. They were angry with her for gathering their jewels. As she fled to the sea with piles of jewels in her hands, the Council of Rogues threw down a rope where she then got caught. When they brought her back on board, they realized she wasn’t stealing to be malicious, rather to bring more beauty and magic to the ocean and to her precious merfriends. Mermaid Sparkles began bringing her merfriends to the Council of Rogues where they would tell stories and sing songs.

Mermaid Sparkles loves to add sparkle and glitter to all of her friends! She uses her magic to sparklify anyone who just needs a little extra shimmer in their day. She also loves to give gifts, tell stories, sing, swim, and create magical bubbles that she turns into precious jewels.

First Mate

Gremmy the Grim

Gremmy the Grim, once a feared pirate, turned privateer in the 17th century Caribbean, had an extraordinary companion, a mermaid named Sparkles. Born Graham O’Malley in Ireland, he was captured by pirates as a boy but rose to prominence through his skills and bravery. He eventually commandeered his own ship, The Grim Reaper, and became a scourge of the seas.

His life took a unique turn when he was granted a letter of marque by the English Crown, transforming him into a privateer. Amid his daring raids and adventures, Gremmy encountered Sparkles, a captivating mermaid known for her shimmering tail and enchanting voice. Sparkles was drawn to Gremmy’s fearless nature and the haunting melodies he played on his ship’s deck during moonlit nights.

Their bond grew deep, with Sparkles often aiding Gremmy in navigating treacherous waters or alerting him to impending dangers. She became a talisman for his crew, symbolizing good luck and the mystical connection between the sea and those who dared to explore its depths.

Despite his ruthless reputation, Gremmy was known for his code of honor, often sparing civilian targets and treating prisoners fairly. His crew, loyal and diverse, admired his leadership and shared in his riches. The tales of Gremmy and Sparkles intertwined, becoming legendary – from their escapades outsmarting enemy fleets to the whispered rumors about their hidden treasure.

Gremmy’s fate, shrouded in mystery, sparked countless stories. Some say he retired to a secret island with Sparkles, living out his days in peace. Others believe he perished in a great battle, his body lost to the sea, with Sparkles mourning him eternally. Yet, the legacy of Gremmy the Grim and his mermaid companion Sparkles endures, a testament to the era’s daring exploits and the timeless allure of sea lore.

Fairy-Mermaid-Pirate

Gingersnap/Ginger Ale

Once upon a time, there was a fairy named “Gingersnap” who loved music, the arts, and crafting beautiful things. She often flew with a finagle of fairies who loved to make music. They studied, practiced, and performed until their wings nearly fell off! She became weary from all that flying around, and decided to take a long break.

After a while, Gingersnap realized how sad and boring life had become, and decided to go on a big adventure beyond the borders of Fairy Land! In her travels, she came across new magical friends who could swim (Mermaids), and who made her realize that her life was not meant to be that quiet and simple. She remembered what she really loved, and realized the power was still within her to create beautiful things that others could enjoy as well. As she emerged with a fresh mind full of creative ideas, she began to grow the most lovely and vibrant tail! It grew so brilliant and beautiful she decided to shed her wings, and follow her love for swimming in the sea with her new friends. She even won the title of “Miss Mermaid Pennsylvania”, and kept that title for 3 years!

Being a mermaid is fun, but once in a while she regrows her fairy legs to play again with her fairy friends. One fateful day when she regrew her fairy legs to visit her fairy friends, she ran into a crew of pirates. They turned out to be so jolly, that she wanted to be friends with them too! To try to impress her new pirate friends, she decided to try her best to follow their pirate fashion advice, take on the name “Ginger Ale”, and stay on her fairy legs as best she can whenever she is around them.

Unfortunately for her, trying to use fairy legs for anything outside of fairying can cause some dark fairy magic to occur. She has now been cursed in a way that no matter how hard she tries, she is very bad at whatever she tries to do on her fairy legs besides being her lil ‘ol fairy self. This leads to silly situations, and goofy shenanigans as she navigates through the world of pirates being….well….pirates.

*Gingersnap is a PADI certified Advanced Mermaid, and certified in CPR & First Aid. She is available for water activities whether in tank, pool, or open water. She is also available for dry land events with the help of an assistant.

Fairy-Mermaid

Isla the Fairy

Isla was a mischievous fairy who lived on a beautiful island surrounded by crystal clear waters. She was not like any other fairy, as she possessed a unique power – the ability to transform into a mermaid whenever she pleased.

Isla’s magic came from the precious gems and rocks that she collected from various islands and stole from pirates. These gems were her prized possession, and she guarded them fiercely. With their power, she could transform into a mermaid and explore the depths of the ocean.

One day, a group of pirates arrived on Isla’s island, seeking to capture her and take her gems. But Isla was one step ahead of them. She quickly transformed into a mermaid and swam away, leaving the pirates confused and empty-handed.

As she swam in the ocean, Isla came across a group of mermaids who were in trouble. They were being chased by the same group of pirates who had tried to capture her. Without hesitation, Isla used her magic to defeat the pirates and save the mermaids.

The grateful mermaids welcomed Isla into their village, where she was hailed as a hero. They showed her the true beauty of the ocean and taught her how to use her powers for good.

From that day on, Isla would often visit the mermaid village and explore the wonders of the ocean with her new friends. And whenever she needed a break from her mischievous fairy life, she would transform into a mermaid and escape to the depths of the sea.

Isla’s adventures as a mermaid brought joy and excitement to her life, and she was grateful for her magical gems that allowed her to experience the best of both worlds. She had found her true home in the ocean, and she knew that she would always have a place to belong, thanks to her unique powers.
